“The edge of the world”
Standing at the edge of the world
Peering into an endless sea
The waves crash down
Eroding the enamel that keeps my
Emotions from spilling out
Consuming the earth at every step
A fog settles over the water
Masking the power of the sea
And it blots out all of my emotions
Keeping them locked deep inside
Consuming me from within
The sun rises high above the fog
And burns it with the scorn of anger
Anger for keeping beauty for itself
The fog rolls away in shame and defeat
And my emotions rise up inside like the tides
And insignificance gets redefined
Standing at the edge of the world
Peering into an endless sea
There’s a beauty inherent, undeniable
There’s the knowledge and humility it teaches
And even when the fog rolls in again, all will be clear
